Born and raised in the farming counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, John spent his early years messing around in boats, sinking putts on the golf course and keeping wicket for the Sunday XI. He has a passion for food, travel and the fioner things in life. Now with a Politics degree from the University of Kent under his belt, John dreams of opening a restaurant one day, taking inspiration from the array of cuisines they will experience around the world. For him, this isn't just a world record attempt, it's a journey of discovery.
A Sussex boy born and bred, and proud owner of 3 Blue Peter badges, he relocated to Canterbury to study Physics at the University of Kent in 2011, where he would meet team mate John. Taking inspiration from his parents can do/will do attitude, and insatiable desire to never run out of stories to tell his grand-kids, this will be George's first unsupported expedition and definitely not his last.
