The dream was born well over a year ago now, however only in the recent weeks has the enormity and reality of the task in front of us become apparent. We're now on the edge of the six month mark from departure, and the excitement is building as each day goes by. The challenge that lies ahead of us will no doubt be the adventure of a lifetime, but over the last year, as we've been slowly working towards the start line, it is undeniable to say that it has not always felt entirely real. With this being said, here we are with a confirmed departure date and time; and an iconic starting and finishing line.
So here goes, clear your diaries, book the day off, banners at the ready, come down to the start line to see us off. We will be pushing off through the cathedral gates on the morning of Wednesday 8th June 2016, and if all goes to plan hopefully crossing that line again just over 7 months later; having circumnavigated the world, cycled 18,000, crossed 30 countries and 5 continents.
As I write this, the countdown begins: 194 days before we set off on an expedition that we will no doubt be talking about for the rest of our lives. The feat of 18,000 miles by human power alone is a daunting one, but I for one cannot wait for the adventure to begin.
